Review: Nice Seats - removable seat covers for the germophobic traveler

Jul 2, 2014

A couple of years ago I went on the trip of a lifetime to volunteer in Africa with some wonderful ladies. As we boarded the plane, giggling about the thrill of it all, one of my friends reached down to move the seatbelt she'd sat on. Then she made the worst face... it wasn't the seatbelt. She pulled her hand away to reveal a mound of brown, gooey, sticky mess that we really hope was chocolate.

Ever had this experience? It's the worst! And I'm sooooo excited that I now have a way to avoid it.

These are Nice Seats, handy portable seat covers. They're made right here in Los Angeles by Ben and Angela (really you couldn't find two nicer people). Nice Seats are kind of like sheets for your chair, like so:

I met Ben and Angela at a fashion event in Downtown LA. Immediately, I was attracted to the rack of bags hanging next to them (see top photo). Bright colors and fun prints, like ABC's and sea bird print, pulled me in. I thought they were some kind of clutch, but they're so much more! Nice Seats come packed into small, easy to stash pouches, which doubles as a a place to stow your must have items.

I haven't been on a plane since I picked up my Nice Seat (in a gorgeous confetti print!) but I did take it to the movies. I felt like a princess floating above the popcorn bits on the seat! When I got home, I threw it in the wash and it emerged unfaded and just as soft as ever.

Normally I wouldn't blog about something like this, but it's a damn good product and I had to share!

Ben and Angela could not be nicer people. Please reach out to them, they'd love to hear from you. Tell them I said hello!

You can find Nice Seats on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Etsy.
