David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust: The PROTECT Organic Jute Bag

Apr 4, 2015

A few years ago I had the inarticulable joy of visiting the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. I say inarticulable because that's exactly what happens when you visit DSWT. You stand there, in the middle of a dry and dirty patch of nowhere, wondering what the fuss is all about. And then this little guy walks out:

Well, more like bounds out, with the uncoordinated abandon of a puppy. And he's followed by 20 of his baby elephant friends. I dare you to find a single word in that moment. "Cute," "sweet,"  and"adorable" all fall short when a three foot elephant calf starts walking towards you. You become an inarticulate mess of pure joy.

There's nothing in the world quite like it.

While I can't send you to Africa, I can help you bring a small piece of the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust wherever you are.

The PROTECT Organic Jute Bag is the only reusable bag you'll ever need. This is the bag for environmentalists, for conservationists, for lovers of elephants, and for everyone else. Take a look:

This lovely reusable bag is highly durable. It's made from Jute, a natural fiber from a plant that's used to make rope, canvas, cloth and even food. Burlap is made from the same plant. It's an incredibly affordable and environmentally friendly product. And it will stand up to anything, so take it for a bike ride or a picnic with the kids.
