The Finish Line: Reflections on the A to Z Challenge

May 7, 2015

The A to Z Challenge is complete! That was a rush. Here's a wrap up from one month of handbags.

The A to Z Challenge asks 1000+ bloggers to post each day in April (well, we take Sundays off, we're not crazy) according to the letter of the alphabet. A = April 1, B = April 2, etc.

This challenge was more difficult that I imagined. You set out with a starry-eyed go-getter attitude. The first few are invigorating! And then you have a surprise trip to Arizona, a 70 hour work week, a life.... suddenly those 26 posts are much harder to complete. It goes in waves, where some days you're riding high and others you struggle to get something done. You test the limits of your willpower and creativity. It's like running: when you start, every step feels like a struggle. But you dig inside yourself and find the tenacity to keep going, and at the end you turn around and see everything you've accomplished.

I am so proud to turn around and see these pieces at the finish line:
A - Apple's Future Handbag
B - Branding for Women: Nuggets of Wisdom from a Surprisingly Useful Networking Event
C - Clutches: A Short History
D - David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust: The PROTECT Organic Jute Bag
E - Ethical Clothing
F - Fashion Technology - A Conversation with Carnise McIntosh of Leoht

  1. Yep! I participated and I finished. I totally agree with your sentiments. I started off a week in advance but it wasn't long before I was only two days in advance and facing a two-day trip away. Still, it was a great time.
