Terry Bradshaw Is My New Favorite Feminist

This Sunday, Terry Bradshaw became my new favorite feminist.

Hall of Fame quarterback, TV talking head and Navy supporter Terry Bradshaw finally said on air what should have been said a long time ago. In a refreshingly sincere and extemporaneous moment, Bradshaw told a world full of football fans, “Anybody, in my opinion, that lays a hand on a woman — I don’t care who you are my friend — you never come back in this league."

Here's the clip. It's only a minute long and it's so worth watching:
Violence against women and the NFL have been linked for an awfully long time (emphasis on awful). This should be getting better, not worse. As an avid football fan. I refuse to draft any of said players onto my fantasy team, and sadly my list of non-douchebag options is dwindling year after year. So I couldn't be more thrilled to see someone like Bradshaw actually giving a s!^* about this rampant problem. And, more importantly, bringing it into our national conversation.

For the record, this isn't a PR play by Terry Bradshaw. Check out this clip from 10 years ago when Ben Rothlisberger (barf) was given a 4 game suspension for an accused rape.

Want to do something to help? Donate to any of the wonderful nonprofit organizations working tirelessly on every aspect of this issue. Here in Los Angeles, the House of Ruth does incredible work.

Interestingly, Mr. Bradshaw has the same last name as another favorite feminist. Could Carrie Bradshaw have taught him well? The world may never know...
